There will be blood... donations!
- Monday June 10th 2024
What does the the London Dungeon and NHS Blood and Transplant have in common? We both love blood of course! 🩸
In support of National Blood week from June 10th to 16th, we’ve launched our partnership with NHS Blood and Transplant.
To kick things off, we headed to Westfield Shepherd's Bush Blood Donor Centre where a couple of our Dungeon Dwellers donated blood. Head over to our Instagram page to watch the Plague Dr and Torturer de-bunk myths, share important stats and hopefully help you understand the blood donation process better!
Did you know blood donations save lives every day? While the Dungeon might make your blood run cold, we want to warm hearts by raising awareness about the importance of giving blood. This long-term partnership aims to encourage young people to give blood for the first time and will involve further activations throughout the year including a ‘What’s Your Blood Type’ event for you Dungeon fans to find out your blood type for free at the attraction.Â
Despite the generosity of the NHS’s current donors, they cannot currently supply all patients with the donations they need. With help from the London Dungeon, they hope for new donors to come forward who can continue to donate throughout their lives. NHS Blood and Transplant need to recruit nearly 400 new donors a day to meet demand, 135,000 new donors a year to replace those who can no longer donate and 30,000 new blood donors every year, with priority blood types such as O negative.
