The York Dungeon Support the Lord Mayor of York

Dick Turpin welcomed guests to the Guild Hall on behalf of the Lord Mayor for his charity ball, the grand finale of their fundraising year. With it being a charity event Dick was on his best behaviour, although we did still check his pockets as he left; thankfully the Lord Mayor’s chains remained in the Lord Mayor’s possession!

And then on Sunday 19^th May, the Jester and Smedley guided peasants on a walking tour of York, with a special final stop at the Mansion House where they were greeted by the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress! All of the money from the ticket sales was divided between the Lord Mayor’s two chosen charities, The Snappy Trust and York Women’s Counselling Services, with over £200 raised!

We would like to express our thanks to the former Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress for involving us in what was an incredibly successful fundraising year for them!
